Pre-ambulatory care services are essential to the continuum of high quality, cost-effective health care. Hôpitel provides ambulatory care settings in hospitals for patients through our MeditelTM Pre-Admission Ambulatory Care (PAAC) System which is integrated in specially outfitted patient labs or waiting areas that provide educational and training information to patients prior to, or at the time of their admittance in the hospital.

Using Touch Screen technology and software applications developed by Hôpitel, the Meditel TM PAAC System pro-actively delivers information and first hand knowledge to patients on their scheduled procedures, operations and post care. This form of pre-admission education has been proven to be extremely effective in assisting patients to better prepare themselves for their procedures and assist them in coping with its aftermath.

The content distributed through the MeditelTM PAAC System can either be broadcasted throughout the whole hospital at scheduled times or can be addressable to individual rooms or areas of the hospital on demand on a per requirement basis.

This MeditelTM PAAC System’s most powerful feature is its interactive capabilities, querying patients after the broadcast and scoring them on their answers based on their understanding and aptitude of the subject matter and content. This application can, and does save the hospitals tens of thousands of dollars in preparing patients to better understand their medical condition and general health care needs thereby reducing the possibility of medical care neglect or mistakes and avoid possible return visits to hospitals.

Hôpitel is committed to continue to develop low cost efficient solutions to assist health care organizations improve the quality of care provided to patients through technology, and will continue to invest in advancing these solutions to Healthcare institutions across Canada.
